Laberinto Tropical
Pelican

This tame pelican was injured when it was found and then brought to Laberinto Tropical. I could tell it couldn't fly. Since it has lost part of a wing, it now makes its home there, and preferred to stay in the main animal area. One of the two pelicans didn't mind being petted, but the other pelican would kind of snap with his beak if you got too close. Although quite noisy as it was biting air, it did not hurt the few times he actually got me as I was petting the birds (they do not have teeth, and have a very weak bite). One of the toucan cages can be seen behind the pelicans.
