While Margarita has many beach shops (some with VERY good prices) on the island, you will not usually be pestered by peddlers to ANYWHERE NEAR the degree that you find in St. Thomas, St. Martin, Jamaica, etc. If you are not interested, the best thing to do is just say, "No Gracias" (grah-cee'-ahs). You will not generally be bothered by begging either. The people of Margarita are much nicer to deal with than folks in most places. Treat them with respect, and they will do the same for you. |
