Margarita is like any other part of the world... It has many very fine roads, and some that are not so good as well. If you visit the island, you can rent a car very reasonably, and enjoy yourself much more by seeing more of the island. You will need to practice defensive driving, but the drivers are not as bad as in many places we have visited. Be sure to take time to enjoy and photograph the many scenic areas. Be sure to drive on the right side of the road just like in the U.S.A.
