I am including this photo as an example (warning) to all vacationers taking photos here. While the constant breezes provide a cooling effect that is truly wonderful, and thus the heat is not so noticeable, the extremely bright intensity of the sun can create a real problem when taking photos outdoors. Sometimes (as you see here), I like to shoot pictures PURPOSELY with an extremity of contrasts (in this shot it allowed me to capture the blue tint of the mountains). You will find that even using flash will not fill in the shadows when taking photos (close up) in the bright sun. Therefore, it is usually best to have the sunlight shining from about 45 degrees to the right or left ( from in front) of your subject. Even then, distant scenes will often have washed out areas where light colors appear.
