Many people fear to visit Margarita due to not being able to speak or understand Spanish. We have found there are thousands of people on the island that speak English well enough to help you no matter what problem or question might arise. Many are embarrassed to try to speak English as they fear they will make a mistake. Help them out. Show them you are friendly, and use a few hand motions, etc. to communicate. You will find it is FUN learning to communicate with people in spite of the language differences. We found this lady to be quite capable of several languages, as are many people on the island. |
