About us - MargaritaSun.com: Why do we like Margarita Island so well?
The webmaster of this site was involved for a number of years in the travel industry... specializing in CRUISES and also doing some videography and photo work on the side. He and his wife have been on over 50 cruises and also a number of 'land' trips traveling to such places as Tahiti, Moorea, Bora Bora, Christmas Island, Maui, Oahu, Kauai, Hawaii (Big Island), Mareau, Palm Island, Union Island, Aruba, Curacao, Bonaire, St. Martin, St. Thomas, St. John, St. Kitts, St. Eustatia, St. Barts, St. Lucia, St. Croix, Guadeloupe, Martinique, Dominica, Grenada, Barbados, Antigua, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Norman Island, Peter Island, Salt Island, Sandy Key, Jost Van Dyke, Tortola, Virgin Gorda, Jamaica, Grand Cayman, Cozumel, Cancun, Nassau, Grand Bahama Island, Gun Key, Berry Islands, Tobago Keys, Costa Rica, Panama, Honduras, Belize, Columbia, Venezuela, and others.
After all the years of traveling, we have concluded that Margarita Island is the most diverse (variety) of all the islands we have visited. However, most people who travel to Margarita never realize how much they COULD have seen and enjoyed during their visit had they only known ahead of time.
Margarita Island is often referred to as the "Best Kept Secret In The Caribbean". We can agree with that evaluation, and we feel that FACT is exactly why so many visitors do not find Margarita to be a very special place. The 'secret' is kept so well, they are unaware of what the island has to offer. Just check our photo tour of the island to see for yourself - the island has LOTS to offer that many don't know about.
We have found many sites on the Internet where people speak badly of the island. We have found that many people actually tell outright LIES concerning the island. We are not sure of their purpose nor motive, but rather than argue and force YOU to have to choose who to believe, we prefer to present our case in PHOTOGRAPHIC format.
On this site, you can look at the photos as you visit many of the special places and people on the island. After you have taken a PHOTO TOUR, then you can make up your mind who to believe.
We are very much aware that there are so many places to see and so many things to do on Margarita Island that we can NEVER manage to photograph everything. Therefore, we invite all of you who visit the island to send in YOUR vacation photos by email and we will publish them in this section of the site. We will give you the 'by-line' ("Photo by") credit right on your photos just like you see posted on ours. If you wish to contribute, send the photos (with captions if you like) to 
and we will publish them as quickly as possible. This is your chance to share your pictures with friends and family on-line. Why not send them in soon?
Also, if you have an especially nice experience with some aspect of the island, and would like to write a letter telling of your experience(s), please feel free to do so. We will post the letters in the "Visitor letters" section of the site (we can leave out your name if you wish).
